The 1912 Legacy Society was established to honor the thoughtful generosity of those who have included Farmingdale State College in their estate plans or who have made and documented a gift to Farmingdale for future support of the College in their financial plans. Through their planned gifts, members of The 1912 Legacy Society will ensure that Farmingdale remains an engine of opportunity for the future of Long Island and beyond.
We invite you to join our proud alumni, faculty, staff, and friends and become a member of The 1912 Legacy Society. To make a gift for the benefit of Farmingdale State College through your estate plan, please specify the legal beneficiary as Farmingdale College Foundation. The 1912 Legacy Society donors may designate their planned gifts to a particular school or program of their choice. Gifts can be used to establish an endowed fund or added to an existing fund to sustain annual gifts in perpetuity.
Becoming a member of The 1912 Legacy Society
You can join this special group of benefactors by remembering Farmingdale State College in one or more of the following ways:
- Bequest: include a gift to the Farmingdale College Foundation in your will or trust
- Retirement Plan: designate the Farmingdale College Foundation as a beneficiary of your IRA or 401(k) plan
- Life Insurance: designate the Farmingdale College Foundation as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy
- Charitable Gift Annuity: contribute cash or securities and retain a fixed income for life
- Deferred Gift Annuity: contribute cash or securities and retain a future fixed income for life
- Charitable Remainder Trust: contribute one or more assets and retain a fixed or fluctuating income for your lifetime or for a term of years
- Charitable Lead Trust: contribute cash or securities to create an income stream for Farmingdale State College for a term of years and retain the right to receive the principal thereafter
- Real Estate: contribute your primary or vacation home and live in it for your lifetime

Society members are recognized throughout their lifetime and beyond for their commitment to the College. We invite all members to join us for special events each year, such as the President's Annual Donor Reception, in honor of their dedicated support.

- Early notice of special events
- Complimentary tickets to events when available
- Significant tax savings and possibly additional income
- Acknowledgement of your generosity in College publications (unless you wish to remain anonymous)
- Regular communications regarding important tax information, estate planning and other useful information
